EDUC205
Human Development: Grades K-8

This page is designed help students with the field placement requirement for this course.

You will be required to work with a group of students in grades K-4, and a separate group of students in grades 5-8. Placements will occur in local schools and Boys and Girls Clubs.

Make sure to carefully review each of the three sections below to ensure you receive your placement information as quickly as possible.

1. Field Placement Checklist

This is a list of everything you need to do to make sure you are placed as quickly as possible. To ensure that you receive placement information as soon as possible you must provide accurate schedule and transportation information by the first week of classes. If your schedule changes during the semester you must update the online information.
Before the semester begins you MUST:

Register for your Field Placement

This provides information needed to complete placements.
NOTE - When registering, follow these steps after logging in:
        - Go to Step #2
        - Select 'Level 1, Early Field Experiences'

Show proof of TB clearance.
        - You cannot be placed until you prove that you do not have TB. Delaware law requires we have this before placing you.

Review and be familar with the Dispositions Policy
        - This governs your conduct during all field experiences. This is covered in more detail in EDUC100.
  During the semester, remember to:
Wear a valid ID Badge at all times during a visit

- This will also be reviewed in EDUC100. Inserts will be given in class.

Print out a log sheet. Make sure to have it signed when you visit.
Print as a Word, or a pdf file
Before the semester ends:
Complete the Log Sheet and turn into Class Instructor (in Adobe Acrobat)
Complete your online Field Placement Record

You will need this when you apply for student teaching. It is much easier to take care of this at the end of the semester when the information is fresh.
