ID Badge Information

All students who are enrolled in a teacher education program at the University of Delaware must obtain and display appropriate identification at all times during field experiences. Proper identification is composed of the following:

University of Delaware UD1 Card

Clear badge holder which can be purchased at the Trabant Center

Appropriate lanyard which can be purchased at the Trabant Center

ID Badge Insert which is issued in class by the Office of Clinical Studies prior to your first field experience. This will have an expiration date appropriate to you content area. See sample below.

This identification will be used for all field experiences. Students are responsible for having this available for any field placement through student teaching.

All students who are participating in clinical experiences must wear and display the official University of Delaware Teacher Education ID badge whenever they are participating in a clinical experience. Building principals/site administrators are being informed that you are not to be in the building without the official ID badge.

The ID Badge Insert will be issued to teacher education majors for the duration of their program and will expire upon graduation. Should a student drop a course which has a clinical component, the professor should collect the ID badge and return it to the Office of Clinical Studies immediately. The professor should not sign the drop/add form until s/he receives the ID badge. The ID badge will be reissued, at no cost to the student, when the student enrolls in another course which has a clinical component.
