All Web pages that are hosted on a University of Delaware domain space (udel.edu) are requested to use an available header and footer.
There are four primary elements of the UD Web standards. When used consistently, they help create a unified look and feel for the UD Web.
- Header with University of Delaware logo
- Footer with University of Delaware logo
- Typography standards (recommended)
- Color palette (recommended)
All Web pages that are hosted on the University of Delaware domain space (udel.edu) are requested to use one of the OCM Web banners and footers at the top of the page and bottom of the page (respectively). These banners are continuing to be offered in formats which provide the most flexibility of use with an eye towards providing a balance between the visibility of the school/unit and the UD brand.
The full-range of UD Branding elements, inclusing the header and footer, can be reviewed in the UD Brand Style Guide as an interactive .pdf or a downloadable .pdf (7 MB)
The core of the UD Web Identity Standards is a flexible template system. The headers and footers are offered in standalone versions, in server-dependent versions and through Dreamweaver templates. Thorough documentation of the header and footer system can be found on http://www.udel.edu/modules. If you are a developer, be sure to sign up for the RSS feed providing up-to-date revisions and improvements to the templates.
OCM is working with IT Client Support & Services to develop a number of other standardized elements that can be used to enhance usability and visual consistency. Recent implementation of Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress and Drupal have Section 508 compliant and W3C-compliant code out-of-the-box. More information and tutorials about WordPress are available on the LearnIT@UD page
