The Student Nurses Organization (SNO) was
established in 1977 by a group of nursing students who wanted to aid the nursing
student's development as a healthcare professional and to become more active
within the community. SNO is a constituent of the Delaware Student Nurses'
Association and the National Student Nurses' Association, Inc.
Our function is to have direct input into standards of nursing education and
influence the education process; to promote and encourage participation in
community affairs and activities towards improved health care and the resolution
of related social issues; to represent the nursing student to the consumer, to
institutions, and other organizations; to promote and encourage students'
participation in interdisciplinary activities; and to promote and encourage
recruitment efforts, participation in student activities and educational
opportunities regardless of the person's race, color, creed, sex, life style,
national origin, age, or economic status. |
