As a student, you know very well how influential your peers are on your behavior.
You also know that the use of tobacco products is harmful to your health. This is your opportunity to design a poster that visually communicates to your peers that they need to
quit smoking now.

A picture (or poster) could be worth more than a thousand words – it could help save a life.

Call For Entries
This competition invites students to design a poster that communicates to young adults (18-24 years old) about the health risks of using tobacco products.

Current research indicates that the most effective strategy to promote the cessation of tobacco use among young adults is in the combination of visual imagery and educational information; and a poster is the most immediate form of graphic communication.

Research also shows that most young adults have a negative perception of anti-smoking programs; they consider them to be demeaning, belittling, and/or annoying. Thus, peer-designed visual media is a recommended strategy to increase attractiveness and effectiveness of tobacco cessation programs.
