SCHULZ FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FOR NURSING

Maxine Schulz was an Assistant Director of the Legislative Reference Bureau at Delaware Legislative Hall; a member of the Republican State Committee and the 1984 Delaware Republican Woman of the Year. Her obituary in the Wilmington News Journal states that "She was the recognized expert in digging up bills of previous sessions of the General Assembly, figuring out what bills have been introduced on any given subject and answering thousands of questions on other legislative matters. "Ask Maxine" was a phrase often heard around Legislative Hall. She resigned her post in 1961, primarily because she was a Republican committee-woman and the Reference Bureau passed into Democratic hands." Upon her death in 1992, the family requested that memorial contributions be made to the Schulz Family Scholarship for Nursing.
