Graduate Orientation
The information on this page will provide you with important details concerning the graduate program. Graduate orientation occurs once a year on campus prior to the beginning of the fall semester. The information on this page is for all graduate students and specifically for online students and students unable to attend graduate orientation on campus. The orientation information is provided in a variety of educational formats as described below.

PowerPoint Orientation Slides
The Graduate Orientation PowerPoint Slides contain a wealth of information for new graduate students. To enhance your understanding of the video presentations it is recommended that you print the PowerPoint presentations and review them when viewing the orientation videos. You will need the Adobe PDF reader installed to open this file.

New Student Checklist
The checklist will help get you ready to start classes.
Step #1 University of Delaware ID and PIN
Your UD ID and PIN are the key to getting access to many services at the University of Delaware such as academic records, grades, student account as well many educational resources from UD's web site.
Your UD ID is your student number indicated in your acceptance letter from the Office of Graduate and Professional Education (in most cases, 7xx-xx-xxxx). Once the Office of Graduate and Professional Education receives your Response Form, your PIN number will be sent via email. If you have not received your PIN, please call (302) 831-6824 or send an email to zielm@udel.edu.
Once you have been issued your PIN number, you may log into the student records system
( UDSIS ) to access your personal records and register for classes.
Step #2 Email and Computers
Follow the steps outlined at the University's "Before You Arrive" page to activate your University e-mail account and review additional UD computing information.
Step #3 Student Identification
Students are required to carry the UD#1 Card at all times. It is the official identification card of the University of Delaware.
