School of Nursing Honors Day Awards

Definition of Awards: In general, awards are one-time honors. They may or may not carry a monetary award. In most cases, they are recognized at the Honor’s Day Award Ceremony.

School of Nursing Awards:

• BRN Recognition Award
• RN pursuing baccalaureate degree
• Academic excellence and exceptional personal qualities
• Honor’s Day Award
• Complete application form, submit by January 15 to Pat Grim at spring@udel.edu or the Chair of the Student Affairs Committee in the School of Nursing
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• First State Orthopaedic Clinical Excellence Award
• Senior Nursing student
• Outstanding clinical skills, academic achievement, exceptional professionalism
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required
• Complete application form, submit by January 15 to Pat Grim at spring@udel.edu or the Chair of the Student Affairs Committee in the School of Nursing
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• Virginia Lee Franklin Award
• One or more Senior Nursing students
• Preference given to a student with special interest in the neurologically impaired patient
• Potential to be outstanding practitioner
• Complete application form, submit by January 15 to Pat Grim at spring@udel.edu or the Chair of the Student Affairs Committee in the School of Nursing
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• Helen Fulhart Award
• Junior Nursing major
• Demonstrates significant personal and professional growth while pursuing Nursing education

• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• Elinor M. Holland Memorial Award
• Senior Nursing student with Gerontology interest
• Honor’s Day Award
• Junior Nursing student
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• Senior nursing student
• Motivation to pursue nursing education despite personal obstacles
• Promise of making meaningful contribution to profession
• Honors Day Award

• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• School of Nursing Award
• To be eligible, you must be a senior Nursing major
• Active in professional and community service
• Exemplifies high competence in professional nursing
• Recommended by faculty
• Exceptional academic achievement and personal qualities
• Monetary award
• Complete application form,submit by January 15 to Pat Grim at spring@udel.edu or the Chair of the Student Affairs Committee in the School of Nursing
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required

• School of Nursing Distinguished Service Award

• Sigma Theta Tau Honors Day Tuition Scholarship
• Scholarship for newly-inducted member of Beta Xi chapter
• Successful completion of post-baccalaureate course applicable to graduate nursing degree

• Members of Beta Xi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau
• One award to an accelerated degree student and one award to traditional nursing student
• Best represent vision and mission of honor society

• Nursing major
• Outstanding scholarship, dedication and commitment which exemplify nursing professionalism
• Awarded in honor of Martha Zeisloft, LPN
