Cultivating Leadership Excellence And Responsibilities
CLEAR Circles is the La Salle Nonprofit Center 's adaptation of a national program called Leader's Circles. CLEAR Circles provides nonprofit executives with the peer support they need to become stronger and better leaders. Each Circle is made of up of eight nonprofit Executive Directors that gather once a month for two hours with a well-trained facilitator for problem-solving and learning in a supportive environment. The focus is on group members helping each other achieve their goals in an Action Learning process. Everything shared within a CLEAR Circle remains within that Circle – all group members and the facilitator are required to adhere to strict confidentiality about anything discussed within their Circle. Groups continue meeting for nine months, the opportunity to renew after the initial nine-month commitment. Circles typically run from September or October through May or June.
The La Salle Nonprofit Center launched CLEAR Circles in fall 2003 intending to run two circles but the response warranted three with a waiting list of nearly 70 executive directors. During 2004/2005 eight Circles were created and many of the participants are indicating they want to return again in fall 2005. Participants represent a broad array of organizational types and sizes and are in various stages of development.
Because of the success in the Philadelphia area and as part of our ongoing collaboration with La Salle Nonprofit Center we would like to work with them to extend CLEAR Circles into Delaware.
