The NCRC and the LaSalle Nonprofit Center Present:Certificate in Nonprofit Human ResourcesIf you have responsibility for hiring, firing, supervising staff or administering benefits at your nonprofit, then this is program for you. Through this program you'll learn more; employment laws and legal issues; how to be an effective manager, and team building. This program includes 5 workshops and is interned for nonprofit human resource staff, executive directors, team builders, program managers and others who have supervisory responsibilities and anyone new to nonprofit supervision or human resources. Curriculum Outline: Introduction to Human Resources This 6-hour workshop provides a practical introduction to human resources laws, concepts and functions as they relate to nonprofits, large and small.
Conducting Employee Performance Review A 3-hour workshop which covers the planning and preparation needed to conduct a successful performance review.
Four Frames This 3-hour workshop teaches participants leadership practices based on the “Four Frames” developed by Bolman and Deal. It takes a comprehensive approach for looking at situations from more than one angle, and therefore providing leaders with a broad array of solutions from which to choose.
Effective Supervisory Skills A 6-hour workshop covering all the basic rolls and responsibilities of supervisors. Its focus is on giving practical, hands-on tips, tools and knowledge to build supervisors' confidence and skill.
Hiring Techniques This 3-hour workshop covers the critical steps in hiring staff and provides tools/techniques for enhancing effectiveness. Strategies for effective recruiting, interviewing and reference checking are also presented.
