The CDC/CBDO as the Developer of a Housing Project --Advanced Training Seminar

Robert L. Moore serves as President and CEO of the Development Corporation of Columbia Heights, a Fannie Mae Maxwell Award-winning CDC that initiates affordable housing and economic development projects designed to invest in the physical, social and economic revitalization of a historic neighborhood in the District of Columbia. Mr. Moore has extensive experience in uban policy, housing, economic development, and community building. Using CED case studies on infill, multi-family, and mixed income housing development strategies, he will provide capacity-building instruction to help you:

• Learn the development process for housing production specifically focusing on techniques that make for sale and rental housing affordable without gentrifying neighborhoods.
• Determine the criterion and factors to use in selecting members of the development team and understand their roles & responsibilities.
• Understand the types of financing required and how to structure and obtain it.
• Learn cost reduction techniques to apply in each phase of the development process.
• Design housing development projects framed by CED principles and practices
• Understand the components needed in a local housing finance development system that supports CDC housing production.
