Faith-Based Community Development Certificate CourseCapacity-building of various community development and social service nonprofit organizations has become a critical element in today's society, nationally and locally. There is increasing reliance, by both federal and state governments, on faith and secular founded community-based organizations to provide a number of social and community development services, such as child care, affordable housing, health care, and human capital development, particularly among low-to-moderate income groups across the country. The curriculum of the Faith-Based Community Development Certificate Course is structured to provide organizational and leadership competencies to faith and religious-based organizations whose focus is “to improve the lives of the least of these”. The course is taught one day a week for 7 consecutive weeks. The learning modules in the course focus on strengthening the organizational, program planning, and financing capabilities of houses of worship or their separately incorporated nonprofit organizations or Community Development Corporations. Staff and board members of such organizations, religious and faith leaders and laypersons are the primary constituencies which the course has been designed to benefit. Decision-makers in the public and private sectors, bankers, developers, and foundation officers, who are the traditional partners and funders of Faith-Based Community Development Organizations are highly encouraged to take advantage of this capacity-building opportunity as well. NEW course highlight !!
