Public Allies Delaware
Now accepting applications for our next class!
We place a diversity of talented young adults (who are interested in careers in public service) in apprenticeships with nonprofit and community-serving organizations.
Qualifications include:
- 18-30 years old
- A copy of high school diploma, GED certificate, or higher education transcript
- Willing to apprentice an average of 40-50 hours per week
Benefits include:
- A $14,000 stipend for ten months of service
- A taxable educational award of $4,725 upon completion of the program
- AmeriCorps Health Insurance and Child Care
- Six paid vacation days and federal holidays off
Requirements of the program:
- Satisfactorily complete a Team Service Project
- Complete a minimum of 1,700 hours of service
- Serve as an AmeriCorps member
- Attend weekly Friday trainings
- Attend three weekend retreats
- Attend additional conferences and events related to the service movement and volunteerism
- Participate in evaluations of the program
Additional benefits offered through the University of Delaware:
- Assistantships providing full tuition & stipend for Ally graduates admitted, full-time, to one of several graduate programs in the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy
- A $5,000 scholarship match for all Ally Alum admitted full-time for an undergraduate degree program at the University
