Dear Nonprofit Leader:
As you know the Center for Community Research and Service of the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy at the University of Delaware has developed a Training for Excellence in Nonprofit Management Program, known as the TEN Program. The Nonprofit Management Certificate course, a key component of this program, will be offered for the seventeenth time this spring. It is designed to provide practical management training for the staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations in Delaware and the surrounding region. The Nonprofit Management Certificate is earned by successfully completing a 16-week program that provides a comprehensive, systematic and integrated approach to the management of nonprofit organizations. The program emphasizes managing funds, staff and information more efficiently and effectively in an ever-changing environment.
Classes will meet 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays, February 7 - May 29, 2008 at the Community Service Building, 100 West 10th Street, Wilmington (see Map). Certificate trainers include University faculty teamed with area practitioners. The Nonprofit Management Certificate is supported by a tuition scholarship pool funded by the University and outside sources. Because these sources cover approximately one-half of the cost of the program, the fee per participant is $1000. There is also a $95.00 materials fee. Enrollment is limited to 25 persons. Therefore, early registration is recommended. Participants and their organizations are expected to make a commitment to full participation in all Certificate course activities. Requirements include attendance at all training sessions, completion of reading assignments and exercises, and completion and presentation of a strategic plan for a nonprofit organization.
A registration form and candidate information form are available to download. To register, please return the registration form (and fee) to the Division of Continuing Education and the candidate information form to Melissa Watson.
