Discussions are used to collaborate on course topics. The questions, comments, and responses can be general or specific.
Click Discussions in the Course Menu or on the Homepage to enter the Discussions area.
Status
If the status indicates public and unlocked, the topic is open to all readers and can be answered by students or instructors. A private status indicates only students assigned by the instructor may access the topic. A locked status means no one can access the topic but the instructor.

Topics
Upon selecting the Discussions tool, you will be taken to a topic listing page. Topics are created by the instructor.
Click the desired topic to see the postings. If you click All, you will see all postings for all available topics.

You can show all messages or unread messages by using the All or Unread buttons in the Display section.

Reading / Posting / Replying to Messages
1. Click the Subject title to open the message.
2. To post a new message, click Compose message.

3. Enter the text.

4. Click the Post button.

Be sure to click Update listing after reading/composing messages so that the latest information is displayed.

Click Reply to post a reply to a message. Click Post when finished.

You can also send and receive attachments in Discussion messages. Just click Browse, find the file, and click Attach file.
