Commencing September 1, 1995, by virtue of newly established collaberative ties, it will be possible for students enrolled as degree candidates in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program concurrently to earn a certificate in Museum Studies. While the certificate option will be open to all interested and eligible MALS students, it is intended particularly to serve the needs of those affiliated, either as paid staff members or volunteers, with museums and historical prganizations in the Delaware Valley and beyond. The certificate in Museum Studies is awarded at the time that a student receives her/his academic degree, and is recorded on her/his academic transcript.
Twelve (12) credit hours (four three-hour courses) are required for Museum Studies certification. Under the new option, two courses (six credit hours) will be accepted as MALS electives - MSST 802: Leadership and Management of Museums (the core course in the Museum Studies Program); and a choice of either
