HENRY O. TANNER
HENRY O. TANNER (1859-1937) attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, where he studied with Thomas Eakins. Leaving the US in 1891, he continued his studies in Paris with Benjamin Constant and Jean-Paul Laurens, and in 1895, his work began to center around biblical themes. His paintings are in the collections of the Louvre, Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
