ELIZABETH CATLETT
ELIZABETH CATLETT (b. 1915), born in Washington DC, is known for her politically charged sculptures and prints. She received her undergraduate degree from Howard University, Washington DC, and an MFA in sculpture from the University of Iowa. In 1947, Catlett married Mexican artist Francesco Mora and has since lived and worked in Cuernacava, Mexico.
