FRANK BOWLING

FRANK BOWLING (b. 1936), a native of Guyana, is widely considered one of the most distinguished black artists to emerge from post-war British art schools. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1962 alongside David Hockney, Derek Boshier, and Peter Phillips. Bowling moved to New York in the 1960s and his work was selected for the 1971 Whitney Biennial. In 2005 he was elected a member of Britain's Royal Academy of Art.
