Jones established and built the art department at Palmer Memorial Institute in North Carolina, and was a professor at Howard University from 1930 - 1977. A legacy of successfull students includes Elizabeth Catlett and David Driskell. Her work can be found at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Phillips Collection, and The Corcoran Gallery.
