Research InterestsMy research interests is
Immunology and Infectious Disease. Currently my laboratory is
investigating the protective mechanism required to survive a pneumoic
plague infection. Using an attenuated
Yersinia pestis our
goal
is to understand the underlying mechanisms of a protective immune
response directed
against Y. pestis in order to produce a more efficacious
vaccine. We are also developing a mouse model of Vibrio parahaemolyticus infection.
This emerging pathogen is the leading cause of food related illness in
the United States however little is known regarding the host immune
response to infection. We are currently developing a mouse model
in order to ascertain those aspects of the immune response that result
in organism clearance |
