The suspected disease is
crescentic glomerulonephritis which is also known as rapidly progressive
glomerulonephritis. It is called crescentic because the cells in
the Bowman's space are crescent shaped. Hematuria is normally present
in this disease and protein may be found though the amount varies.
This disease usually develops into chronic glomerulonephritis or requires
a kidney transplant.
