Physiologic jaundice of a newborn, often hepatic jaundice, is likely to have cleared up on its own by day 5; at this point the biliary system should be developed. The baby in this case most likely has post-hepatic jaundice, based on the elevated bilirubin and the calculi in the bile duct.
