COARSE GOALS: This course describes the formation and physiological role of urine, synovial, cerebrospinal, seminal, serous and amniotic fluids, as well as characteristic changes in these fluids in certain clinical conditions. The principles and clinical significance of testing performed in the routine physical, chemical and microscopic analysis of urine are emphasized. Laboratory assignments will provide practical experience in the performance, quality assurance and clinical correlation of urinalysis and selected body fluid procedures.
