INSTRUCTORS: Donald Lehman, MS, MT(ASCP) and Mary Ann McLane, PhD, MLS
PURPOSE: This course provides introductory concepts and principles related to the study of Clinical Chemistry. Topics to be covered include making reagent solutions and using those solutions in spectrophotometric analyses, and evaluating the quality assurance of those analyses by statistical means. A significant portion of this class is also devoted to introductory statistics, with an emphasis on how statistics are used in clinical laboratory science. This course also introduces laboratory information systems, and the role of research in the clinical laboratory.
