1. The microscopic portion of the routine urinalysis is missing the presence of renal epithelial cells.  Renal epithelial cells have a reference range of 0-5/hpf.  The renal epithelial cell count is considered pathological if it is >5/hpf.  Some conditions that can cause abnormal renal epithelial cells are allograft rejection, pyelonephritis, and renal tubular damage.
