Case Study #2-            A Heroine Drug User

A 53 year old African American male initially decided to see a doctor to get a blood test with the concern of possibly having contracted an HIV infection, via his usage of Heroin.  Although the test came back negative, the patient continued to do drugs, gain weight, and maintain a poor diet until his next visit, when the doctor noted hypertension and edema.  The doctor decided to run a urinalysis and blood test for the patient.  The results were as follows:
