Answer: A normal blood creatinine level, based on the kidney's glomerular filtration rate (GFR), is usually indicative of normal kidney function.  However, even if the level is normal, the presence of protein may still exist in the urine.  In this case, a large amount of protein does exist in the patient's urine, despite a normal blood creatinine level.
