The planning committee is proud to invite you to attend and participate in the 4th International Conference on Exogenous Factors Affecting Thrombosis and Haemostasis (EFATH). This will be the 25th anniversary of the first international meeting of this conference, and will take place in Boston, Massachusetts, USA from Friday July 17, 2009 until Sunday July 19, 2009.

The main theme of this conference will be “From Genomes and Proteomes to the Clinic”, and will celebrate the advances in venom research and therapeutics which have been made in the past quarter century.  The program will include historical perspectives to cutting edge advances in this field from all over the world. There will be plenary sessions, invited talks and poster sessions to provide an extensive scientific program.

Boston is at the heart of United States history, and will provide a fascinating mix of the traditional and ultra-modern. Visa information

The United States Department of Homeland Security has implemented an electronic system for travel authorizations for screening passengers before they begin travel to the US under the Visa Waiver Program. Currently 27 countries (listed at http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html) participate in the Visa Waiver Program. There are some countries whose citizens will still need a visa for travel to the US. Even some citizens of the 27 countries in the Visa Waiver Program may still need to obtain a visa if certain conditions apply (such as desiring to stay in the US longer than 90 days). There are also special notes for citizens of Canada, Mexico and Bermuda. I strongly encourage you to become familiar with the information at the above website, contact the nearest US embassy if necessary, and have all your questions answered well in advance of July 2009.
