2)       Why can’t the clinical laboratory scientist leave the specimen for a coworker to examine next Monday?

 Trichomonas vaginalis will die and the flagella will fold up.  Therefore, it will lack motion (a key defining characteristic).  Once this parasite is dead, it is often confused with white blood cells.
