Technical correlations:

cloudiness and presence of bacteria.
alkaline pH and presence of ammonium biurate crystals
protein on stix (100 mg/dL) and SSA (2+ = 30-300 mg/dL) are comparable.
nitrite positive on stix and presence of bacteria.
alkaline pH and presence of bacteria.
leukocyte +ve on stix, wbc seen microscopically.

Clinical correlations:

Upper Urinary Tract infection:
Leukocytes, alkaline pH, nitrite +ve, and protein +ve on stix, bacteria and wbc's on microscopic examination.

If there are oval fat bodies present, it is indicative of renal failure complication of the infection.
