Trichuris trichiura
Trichuris trichiura is known as the whip worm due to the appearance of the adult worm. Ova are the diagnostic form; they are football-shaped with clear bipolar plugs. The ova  are about 50 µm long and 22 µm wide. The image at right is an unstained wet-mount (400x).
