Murray Johnston is a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware. His research involves the application of mass spectrometry and other analytical chemistry methods to a wide array of materials, from airborne particles to biological and polymeric macromolecules. His current work emphasizes the characterization of gaseous and airborne particulate pollutants and their effects on human health, global climate and surfaces relevant to art conservation. He interacts regularly with students in the Preservation Studies Doctoral Program. He is a coauthor of over 150 publications in the scientific literature.
