Teaching
and Learning with Millennials
In the 21st century, educational institutions are
forced to deal with a new population of learners with unique characteristics.
As colleges and universities become populated by Millennials, responding
to the learning needs of this generation of learners becomes progressively
more important. An initial reaction may be to feel daunted by the
challenge of evolving pedagogy to meet the needs of Net-savvy students,
but educators are assisted by the fact that this generation is very
education oriented. These students learn in a different way than
their predecessors did, but they want to learn. This interactive
presentation will discuss Millennials’ learning styles and
consider how we, as educators, can work with Millennials’
unique characteristics to make teaching and learning more effective.
