Session 1
Here's where to start—no experience neccessary. This session will cover the basic concepts of web site creation and start the hands-on process of editing documents within a web page editor, Dreamweaver 8.
  • Preparation of Web Site (server directory, permissions)
  • Overview of Dreamweaver’s  windows
  • Basic web pages using Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Session 2
Building upon the structural web page elements from session 1, we'll use the image tag to accomodate visual content. HTML tables will be introduced as a technique for controlling web page layout. Cascading Style Sheets will be introduced. A template will be constructed for quickly creating multiple web pages.

Session 3
So far, our web sites have been a passive medium for the user. With forms and other interactive tools, you can use the web to collect information or transact business with your users.

  • Color palettes and color sampling

Session 4
This session is about breaking out of the box—literally. We'll use image slicing and nested tables to create more sophisticated web page layouts. This is where we put it all together and point out possible directions for continuing from here.
