Chair, Commission on the Status of Women, 1982­84 - President Trabant requested the Commission to conduct the Institutional Self­Study on Sex Equity for Postsecondary Institutions, developed by the Carnegie Foundation. This review was carried out by the CSW over the subsequent 2 year period, and was disseminated to various administrative groups such as the President's Council. It has served to provide action recommendations and policies for subsequent CSW Commissions.

President, Arts & Science Faculty Senate, 1974­75 - Initiated the Ad hoc Committee on Senate Appraisal. The charge of the committee was to examine the structure and functioning of the Senate, and to make structural and procedural changes where needed. As a result of this committee's work, several by­law changes were made and the structure of several standing committees of the Senate substantially altered.
