The meeting opened at 5:15
pm.
- George Slentz distributed
literature and gifts from the Office of Information System (OIS) and
explained the function of the organization. We then proceeded to the
various areas of OIS for the tour. George intrigued the group with many
of what he referred to as "gee whiz" facts; details about
the volume of data that are processed by OIS through telecommunications
and print.
- We returned to the conference
room where we were joined by George's class (MEE7604 - Multimedia Education)
from Wilmington College.
- George discussed e-volution,
the report of the task force assigned by Governor Minner to evaluate
OIS and make recommendations for the future or the organization. Gov.
Minner's Information Technology Task Force Report is available on
the web in PDF format.
- The agenda called for discussing
future meeting topics. Since all attendees, with the exception of George
and Wendy, were first-time attendees, it was decided that these issues
would be discussed using the listserv. Instead, Wendy gave the group
a brief overview of ITUG.
- Meeting was adjourned at
7:15 pm.
