About the Secure UD information security awareness initiative

Secure UD Logo Secure UD is the University of Delaware’s information security awareness initiative. It aims to equip UD employees and faculty with the information and resources they need to understand and respond to computing and information security threats.

The Secure UD initiative's ultimate goal is to protect the data and systems UD uses daily by hardening what many experts say is the weakest link in any security system: the people. The initiative currently includes training videos, periodic security newsletters, and threat alerts.

Secure UD Training

Employees and faculty members who have access to University information systems will be automatically enrolled in Secure UD training. The Secure UD Training site provides login links to training, and it also provides documentation and support for the training program and interface.

Secure UD News

Every month we will post useful articles about computer and information security to the Secure UD News site. Each month’s articles will be about one theme and will tie into UD’s security policies and recommended practices in order to provide more complete context for information security issues in the workplace. Secure UD News also provides the tools to help you educate yourself about important ideas concerning data use and storage.

Secure UD Threat Alerts

The Threat Alerts site is the successor to the UD Phishing blog. The site continues to have examples of phishing scams seen at UD, but expands its coverage to include alerts about data breaches, malware, exploits, and vulnerabilities that affect computers, smartphones, tablets, and the people who use them.

In the future...

The Secure UD initiative also encompasses an ongoing effort to refine and rebrand existing UD IT Security resources. The process will make IT policies and guidelines more accessible and will unify the IT Security Web site with its satellite sites.

You are a target. Information security is everyone’s responsibility.
