Apple issues patch to iOS6 to fix incompatibility with Exchange Calendar

Upgrade to iOS6.0.1 before taking action on calendar items or meeting requests in MS Exchange

On November 1, Apple released an update to its iOS6 software for iPad, iPhone, and 4th generation iPod touch devices. It appears that this patch, iOS6 6.0.1, may fix a bug that affected users of iOS6 and Microsoft Exchange.

University of Delaware Information Technologies (IT) recommends that Exchange users not take any action on calendar items or meeting requests using a new iPhone or any other device running iOS6 until the device has been upgraded to iOS6.0.1.

Apple will be pushing this update to clients. IT recommends that UD Exchange users with iOS6 devices download the update over the air with Software Update, or, if necessary, via iTunes or the Apple App store.

The update to iOS6.0.1 also includes important security updates. (Report from Sophos Labs)
