Cristina Archer gives first HPC Symposium presentation

Cristina Archer at the first HPC Symposium

Associate Professor Cristina Archer, School of Marine Science and Policy, gave the first presentation in the High Performance Computing (HPC) Symposium series on January 28. Archer summarized the four areas of wind turbine research, and her research team provided more detailed information on each of these areas. Archer is particularly interested in using UD’s HPC clusters to help her model fluid dynamics that can help her and her researchers in determining ideal configurations for wind turbines.

After the presentation, the 24 attendees exchanged questions about Archer’s research and her group’s use of the Mills cluster. This led to a presentation by Jeff Frey, IT-NSS, concerning the details of the Interlagos chip and the Mills cluster configuration.

Registration is now open for the second HPC Symposium presentation on February 25.
