Hosting Web Pages for External Organizations

The University will host Web pages for external organizations when the organization has a relationship with the University that advances the University's mission, and a member of the faculty or professional staff is responsible for the specific individuals in the organization who are maintaining the Web pages. The faculty or staff member's department must endorse the sponsorship.

The sponsor will coordinate and supervise procedures to provide access and training for these individuals, with the guidance and assistance of Information Technologies (IT). The sponsor will ensure that all policies and procedures that pertain to the use of the University's computing resources are followed. The sponsor will ensure that these Web pages follow University of Delaware guidelines.

The sponsor will provide the necessary identifying information to the IT Support Center to create access codes for authorized individuals. The IT Support Center will deliver the access codes, passwords, and directory names to the sponsor who is responsible for their secure distribution. The University's Division of Professional and Continuing Studies offers training on a wide variety of topics and will also develop custom training to meet specific needs.

At fiscal year end, the sponsor will assume responsibility for reviewing users authorized to use computing resources and removing access for individuals for whom it is no longer appropriate. The sponsor will also assume responsibility for removing the Web page when it is no longer appropriate for the University to sponsor it.

The sponsor's department will assume responsibility for designating a new sponsor in the event that the sponsor can no longer do this. Alternatively, the department must assume responsibility for terminating this agreement.
