Configuring your browser to enable pop-up windows for trusted UD servers

If you use University Web Forms and Applications, the browser you use may need to be configured to accept pop-up windows (e.g., primus.nss.udel.edu, www.lib.udel.edu, delcat.udel.edu, cognos.udel.edu, etc.).

To configure your browser to accept pop-up windows from these UD sites, follow the instructions outlined below for the computer and browser you use.

Windows Computers | Macintosh Computers


Windows Computers


Firefox

  1. Open the browser.

  2. Click the "hamburger" menu icon (top right) to open the Firefox menu.

  3. Click Options.

  4. Click the Content icon located at the top of the window.

  5. Make sure that Block pop-up windows is activated (checkbox).

  6. Click the Exceptions button located to the right of Block pop-up windows.

  7. You will see the Allowed Sites dialog box.

  8. To enable the browser to recognize UD servers as trusted sites and, therefore, enable pop-ups from these sites, in the Address of web site field, type the site's URL. For example, if you want to add the UD Library site, type

    www.lib.udel.edu

    and then click Allow.

  9. Repeat the previous step to add other UD trusted sites, including:

    delcat.udel.edu for DELCAT

    primus.nss.udel.edu for Web applications

    udapps.nss.udel.edu for Web applications

    udsa.nss.udel.edu for UDSIS

    cognos.udel.edu for the reporting tool COGNOS

    sites.udel.edu for WordPress

    sakai.udel.edu for Sakai@UD

  10. Click Close when you finish adding the sites you want.

  11. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Internet Explorer 9 and newer

  1. Open the browser.

  2. Click the "gear" icon (top right) to select the Tools menu.

  3. Click Internet Options.

  4. Click the Privacy tab.

  5. In the Pop-up Blocker section of the window, make sure that Turn on Pop-up Blocker is activated (checkbox).

  6. In the Pop-up Blocker section of the window, click Settings.

  7. To enable the browser to recognize UD servers as trusted sites and, therefore, enable pop-ups from these sites, in the Address of website to allow field, type the site's URL. For example, if you want to add the UD Library site, type

    Click Add.

  9. Repeat the previous step to add other UD trusted sites, including:

    delcat.udel.edu for DELCAT

    primus.nss.udel.edu for Web applications

    udapps.nss.udel.edu for Web applications

    udsa.nss.udel.edu for UDSIS

    cognos.udel.edu for the reporting tool COGNOS

    sites.udel.edu for WordPress

    sakai.udel.edu for Sakai@UD

  10. Click Close when you finish adding the sites you want. Then click OK on the Internet options window.


Macintosh Computers


Firefox

  1. Open the browser.

  2. From the Firefox menu, click Preferences. You could also click the "hamburger" menu icon (top right) and click Preferences

  3. Click the Content icon located at the top of the window.

  4. Click the Exceptions button located to the right of Block pop-up windows.

  5. You will see the Allowed Sites - Pop-ups dialog box.

  6. To enable the browser to recognize UD servers as trusted sites and, therefore, enable pop-ups from these sites, in the Address of website field, type the site's URL. For example, if you want to add the UD Library site, you would type

    www.lib.udel.edu

and then click Allow.

  1. Repeat the previous step to add other UD trusted sites, including:

  1. When you finish adding the sites you want, click the red button to the top left of the window to close the exceptions window.

  2. Close the Content dialog box.
