Switch to Google Apps @UDel.edu

 

Faculty & staff please note:

While undergraduate students must use Google Apps @UDel.edu for their email, faculty, staff, and graduate students are not required to do so. Once you switch from Mirapoint to Google Apps for reading email, you will not be able to switch back. You can still take full advantage of Google Docs, Calendars, and Sites without going through the instructions below to permanently switch your email. Just log in through our Google Apps @UDel.edu page to start using those features. If you log in without switching your email, you will still see Mail as a link, but you will not receive any mail there.  

 

Use the step-by-step instructions below to switch to Google Apps @UDel.edu for your UD email.

  1. Go to the UD Network page and type your UDelnet ID and password.

     

    You will see a window like the one below confirming your UDelNet ID, email address and UDID.

  2. Click the link that says:

    Switch to Google Apps @UDel.edu for your UD email

    You should see a page like the one below.

  3. Click the Select Google Apps @UDel.edu as Your Email System button at the bottom of the page.



    You will see a window like the one below. The conversion will begin and may take several minutes.

  4. Click the Recheck Status button every minute or so until you get the confirmation screen. Please don't click continuously; it will only delay the conversion.



    Once the conversion is complete, you will see a confirmation page like the one below:


  5. Click the link https://googleapps.udel.edu, and you will be taken to the Google Apps @UDel.edu login page:



    You will see a dialog box that includes an image similar to the one below.

  6. Type the wavy looking word in the space provided and click Submit to confirm your acceptance of your Google Apps @UDel.edu account. If you can't make out the word, click Submit and it will give you another one to try.



    You will see the Gmail web page with two welcome messages from Google:

Congratulations, you have now converted to Google Apps @UDel.edu.

If you wish, you can copy your UD Webmail Inbox and/or Folders to your Google Apps @UDel.edu account.
