In addition to teaching in the areas of human sexuality, families and their communities, aging and the family, experiential education, life span development, and family relations, I have traveled extensively in Europe, Australia, and South Africa observing how these countries administer their sexuality education programs.

I have served on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of Delaware, American Cancer Society, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, where I give workshops for other professionals in the field.

I particularly enjoy working with students in my teaching and advising roles. In 2000, the University of Delaware honored me with the Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.
