Research Interests:
The areas of research that I focus on include adolescent development, adolescent problem behaviors, developmental psychopathology, and children of alcoholic parents. I have been involved in a number of longitudinal studies broadly examining the relationship between the family and adolescent development and adjustment. I am especially interested in adolescent problem behaviors (depression, anxiety, and substance abuse) and resiliency. My research focuses on addressing the question of why some adolescents from maladaptive environments turn out to be well adjusted, whereas others do not.

Activities:
On a personal note, I am happily married and have three children and a cockapoo who keep me busy away from work.
