People developing across the
life span, people interacting in families, people
serving the needs of others in communities,
agencies, and schools --- all of these fall
under the scope of study in the Department of
Human Development and Family Studies.
The people in our programs bring
a unique set of qualifications and real-world
experiences to the classroom, to research, to
interventions and to the life of the department.
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies gathers a group of outstanding scholars, supportive staff, and energetic students. Their interests and experience represent a unique blend of opportunities for reflective learning and practical service.
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies represents an interactive community of over 27 faculty, 6 staff, approximately 45 graduate students and 350 undergraduate students who are invested in understanding human development in family contexts, broadly conceived. We are dedicated to facilitating individual development and to helping families to be strong and healthy.
