Interests and activities:
My primary research interests are early literacy and play. My research includes vocabulary learning, play and literacy development, and environmental print awareness. More recently, I have been engaging in a project to develop an effective early literacy instruction and professional development through the Early Reading First Grant funded by U.S. Department of Education. I have been working with children from low-income families to improve their language and literacy skills in which my passion lies. I am an advocate of children's play and am constantly looking for ways to maximize children's learning and development through play in all of my research studies.

On my personal note, I have a supportive husband and a happy daughter who make me smile all the time.
