Interests and Activities:
My research and scholarly work is in the area of early childhood special education and families who have children with disabilities. The book, Resources for Educating Children with Diverse Abilities: Birth Through 8, 3rd ed was published in 1999 (Harcourt Brace). The first Canadian edition was also published that year. Infants and Toddlers: Development and Program Planning (Harcourt Brace) was completed in 1997. My current research focuses on conflict and its resolution in preschool children particularly as it relates to children with diverse abilities. The research looks at physical and relational violence, prosocial behavior, conflict resolution, and victimization. I served as the vice-chair of the Delaware Developmental Disabilities Planning Council and I am on the Board of Directors of the Parent Information Center of Delaware.
