May 24, 2002--The second annual Southern Delaware Convocation, held May 23 at the Shawnee Country Club in Milford, Del., was attended by more than 220 graduates and guests. The event recognized UD students who received their bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees as a result of UD programs offered in southern Delaware.

President David P. Roselle welcomed those attending and congratulated the degree recipients, who represented the colleges of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Arts and Science and Human Services, Education and Public Policy (CHEP).

Roselle said he was delighted to participate the ceremony that he described as a “new UD tradition… which gives us an opportunity to especially recognize and celebrate those of you who have concentrated your academic endeavors in Southern Delaware.”

He also congratulated faculty involved in the Milford Professional Development School, a partnership between CHEP’s School of Education and the Milford School District. Through cooperative teaching and advising efforts, the program resulted in the graduation of the first seven students to complete their degrees through that program.

Alumni greetings were presented by Deborah Kee, a member of the Class of 1974, who with her husband, Ed Kee, a member of the Class of 1973, live in Lincoln.
