Instructional Hockey

Instructional hockey is designed to teach and strengthen basic skating and hockey skills. The classes prepare players for in-house or travel league play. Qualified instructors guarantee adequate attention to all players because of small teacher to student ratios.

• Hockey 1 is for the player with little ice skating experience. The focus is on learning the basics of skating. Stick handling skills are also introduced.*
  
  
• Hockey 2 is for players who have completed Hockey 1, the Beginner Class or any comparable, introductory skating class. The emphasis in Hockey 2 is on strengthening skating skills and developing stick handling and shooting skills needed to begin game play.
  
  
• Hockey 3 is for players who have completed Hockey 2 or any comparable hockey skills class. In addition to developing skills further, Hockey 3 introduces players to game situations and prepares players for in-house play.

Regulations

• Skates, helmets, gloves and sticks are required for all Instructional Hockey classes.
• Beginning Hockey Equipment can be purchased at Henessentials pro shop in the Rust Arena lobby.
• A jersey is provided to all players in Instructional Hockey.

*Players with no ice skating experience are encouraged to start in Community Class Skating before Instructional Hockey.

Fees

$125—For first player
$115—For each additional family member

*Fee includes rental skates and rental helmet.
